Model Rocket Kits
Model rockets became a past-time for many would-be engineers during the space race era. It was developed as an alternative to amateur rockets that required a dangerous mix of metal and flammable propellants. Modern model rockets use much safer materials, such as plastic and cardboard and sometimes even balsa wood. Rather than using hazardous propellants, modern rockets function with single-use motors made by experts in their field and not the amateurs themselves. This means that the rockets can be flown over and over by simply replacing the motor each time.
Kits are available for all ages, from beginner starter kits to more complex scale models available for the braver enthusiasts out there. Children should have adult supervision when it comes to building and launching the model rockets.
